Workshop 2: The Competitive Edge: Rethinking Taping & Splinting

This practical workshop explores innovative ways of combining tape and thermoplastic to create functional splints for athletes without the need for Velcro straps or adhesive tape on the skin. Participants will learn how tape can be integrated into splint design to improve fit, comfort, and ease of use. Demonstrations will include pulley rings, DIP joint splints, trigger splints, PIP joint splints, and selected wrist applications using tape alone, highlighting creative and effective approaches to sports splinting.

The aim is to increase hand therapist confidence to support the peri-operative period.
