Professor Richard Watts was consultant rheumatologist at Ipswich Hospital in 1994-2020 and an honorary Professor at Norwich Medical School. He has long standing research interests in the epidemiology, classification and diagnosis of autoimmune diseases in particular the systemic vasculitides. He was one of the principal investigators on the DCVAS study which developed the EULAR/ACR classification criteria for AAV and large vessel vasculitis.
