Christine Burton is a Vasculitis & Lupus ANP at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  

On qualifying in 1994, Christine has worked in a variety of specialisms and roles, these include ENT/Head & Neck, Oral Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Practice Education Facilitator and now Rheumatology. 

Christine undertook a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice whilst working in ENT/Head & Neck graduating in 2020.  She had experience of ENT vasculitis which gave her an interest to join the Rheumatology team in her current role.  She has been this role since Dec 2021 working alongside Vasculitis & Lupus Specialist Consultants based in the Rheumatology Directorate.  

Christine is part of the vasculitis multidisciplinary team participating in the Joint ENT/Vasculitis weekly clinic, weekly local vasculitis MDT meetings within Rheumatology and monthly vasculitis & lupus Renal MDT meetings.  She has her own caseload, runs independent nurse led clinics, runs the vasculitis and lupus advice lines, and is a nurse independent/supplementary prescriber.

She continues to have a specialist interest in ENT vasculitis and is keen to improve outcomes for all vasculitis and lupus patients.
