Dr Khan is a consultant rheumatologist based at Solihull Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham.  After training in rheumatology and general internal medicine in the East of England, he worked as a research fellow at Southend Hospital and ran the GCA fast-track service under Prof Bhaskar Dasgupta, becoming experienced in musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound. He was a member of the BSR GCA guideline working group.  He has held his present post since 2015, and continues to provide the lead in GCA management for the department.
