Consultant Nephrologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Honorary Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham.  Specialist expertise in ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV) and immune mediated kidney disease.  Together with Lorraine Harper he co-leads the multi-specialty vasculitis service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.  His research activity has been supported by grants from the Wellcome Trust, MRC, Vasculitis UK and MSD and includes translational immunology research focussed on the mechanisms of kidney injury and thrombosis in AAV, as well as the impact of CMV reactivation on clinical outcomes in AAV.
