Ben Rhodes trained in clinical rheumatology in North London. He has a PhD in functional genetics from Imperial College London and continued post-doctoral research supported by an Arthritis Research UK Clinician Scientist Fellowship.  He was appointed a Consultant Rheumatologist at University Hospitals Birmingham in 2013 and has a special interest in vasculitis and lupus. He is lead for the West Midlands Specialist Rheumatology Network and a clinical member of the NHS England Clinical Reference Group for specialist rheumatology.
