Sarah Bradley

Consultant Hand Therapist
University Hospital Dorset

Sarah Bradley is an Occupational Therapist with 33 years experience in hand therapy. She began her career in burns and plastics at the Welsh Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit, where she worked for 10 years before moving to Dorset in 2000 to establish the Orthopaedic Hand Therapy Service at Poole Hospital, now part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

Sarah’s early clinical and research interests focused on rheumatology, leading to several publications and book chapters highlighting the value of hand therapy for this patient group. More recently, she has become passionate about advancing non-operative management of phalangeal fractures. She is the innovator of the Poole Finger Traction Splint, which secured an NHS England Innovation Award and grant to support the development and dissemination of a national/international training programme.

As a consultant therapist Sarah’s work has focused on promoting collaborative, patient-centred decision-making and expanding therapy-led pathways where appropriate. She enjoys sharing practical, clinically relevant innovations and remains committed to advancing hand therapy through education, collaboration and service development.
