Donald Sammut is a Plastic Surgeon and a specialist Hand Surgeon based in the UK. His clinical practice is divided between Bath and London and deals exclusively with Hand Surgery. 

He is also a teacher and trainer, a frequent lecturer at national and international scientific meetings. He is involved in the training and mentoring of surgeons in Hand Surgery, in the UK, Italy and Spain, as well as in the preparation and conduct of Hand Surgery examinations. 

He has created, and runs dissection courses of the Upper limb – one on Anatomy and one on Tendon Transfer surgery - now in their third decade, which have become established as core courses for trainees in the UK and across Europe.  

He has established a programme of Hand Surgery in Nepal, and travels there to reconstruct and reanimate paralysed hands in patients with leprosy, and to teach local surgeons.

He is also an artist and illustrator of both medical and non-medical works.
